Orcs orcs orcs orcs orcs...

Lo folks I got a notification on my mail today i had a package to collect at my local post office. I went over there fully expecting it to be a guitar and was a bit surprised when I was handed a  really smallish package. It turned out to be the Grumlok and Gazbag model I had ordered on Tradera (A Swedish version of ebay)

Here they are

What this picture fail to show is exactly how massive this miniature really is so i took one compared to Jules the Jongleur
I get a feeling he'd be a horrible to try and set up in a regiment, but then again I don't play Orcs and Goblins so it wont matter for me. Though after getting this big guy and a few Animosity Orcs last week I nearly feel like starting. But there are two things stopping me.

1. I promised myself I would finish my High Elves before starting anything else.

2. Metal orcs figures require pinning, and I don't own a pin vice.

anyway here's the animosity orcs, they still require some  assembly and painting, I'll get there someday I hope.

To the end of finishing my High elf army I also ordered a box of Wood elf glade guard online yesterday, I use their cloaks and hooded heads for my shadow warriors.

until next time folks

Saedir Part 1

'Saerdir stood motionless in the darkness, his back straight and his eyes scanning the distance. This was the day he had longed for for so long, His first kill, At least his first kill that fought back, his father had bought a young high elven girl and commanded his son to cut her throat when the boy was a young, she had been very pretty and had his father not been there Saedir might have enjoyed her for a while before killing her, but at the time he had simply killed her in the slowest way possible. But cutting the throat of a crying girl on the floor of his family home was one thing, killing a armed man in battle another. This was the most important day in his life, nothing was more sacred to a dark elf then his first true kill.

He turned his gaze to Daedhel, his unit commander, why was he keeping them out of the battle, just standing here? There was no glory in watching others fighting. A few moment he toyed with the idea to simply thrust his sword into the elf's back and take the warriors to battle himself, but he suppressed the notion. Daedhel was a veteran of countless campaigns and Saedir had yet to kill for the first time. And even if he managed to catch the veteran by surprise there were no guarantee that the others would follow him. No better to wait, the option of putting his dagger in the veterans back wouldn't go away.
Then suddenly Daedhal turned his head and looked at them, as if he knew what they thought.

“I am better than this” he began “I am a true druchii while you are but children who have never taken a life before, I resent being forced to babysit you” The blood started to boil in Saedir's veins, this insult he would not forgett, he and likely every elf in the unit promised to end the life of the veteran one day.

“Soon we'll be in battle and I just want you to know this, if you whelps decide being true druchii is to much for you and run, that'll reflect badly upon me, cause me dishonor” he glared at everyone of them “and I am not about to die for my dishonor which leaves me with one choice... vengeance on those who caused me dishonor, but slaying you whelps will give me little honor back so what i'll do is that I'll find your families and kill them too, everyone who has the least bit of your blood in their veins will die... do you understand what I'm saying to you?” he asked calmly.

They all nodded.

“Is that all the fire you can muster up?” he spat “Is this the future of the druchii race, I spit on it! Let me see some fire! Khaine!” he roared lifting his sword.

“Khaine!” the dark elf warriors answered as one

“Khaine!” the lordling shouted again.

“Khaine!” the warriors echoed.

A group of maybe fifty humans were fleeing the village before them, the menfolk clasping improvised weapons in their hands,a few had cutler but nothing more.

“For Khaine” the lordling cried and charged, the warriors following behind him as one once more echoing the cry of “for Khaine”

They fell upon the humans like a dark storm, they were outnumbered two to one but, these were mere humans versus dark elf warriors. Human thrusted a pitchfork against Saedir who simply swept it aside with his shield and thust his spear into the mans eyesocket, ripped it free then span around slashing his spear's edge across another mans throat. These humans was nothing. He would show Daedhel that he was worth more alone then all these humans.
As he killed another human by stabbing him a few swift times with the sharp edge of his shield he remembered the first time he had held a blade, he had been four years old, which was even younger for an elf then for these short lived humans, he had sparred against his father who had swiftly disarmed him, he had said he yielded and his father had beat him to a bloody mess on the floor. His father had then explained that a druchii never yielded, but attempted to kill his foe until he himself was dead. From that day until he was old enough to begin sparring against the others of his age he had gone through that ritual, when he had began training with others it a had been even more brutal, weakness could not be tolerated in the dark elf society least it spread and they become as foppish and corrupt as their kinsmen on Ulthuan. Once a boy that was training together with Saerdir had yielded to his foe who had spared him, the trainer had killed the boy who yielded and beat the boy who had let him even worse then Saerdir's father had beat him when they were young.

Saedir returned to the present only to find that all the humans were dead or surrendering.

Fools he thought, better die swiftly in battle then to be a slave, but then again who could expect mere humans to have honor like a druchii. He searched the battleground for Daedhel and found him facing the village, Saedir followed his gaze and saw that the dark elf battle banner stood planted in the middle of the settlement, the battle was over. Their victory had never been in question ofcourse and Saedir cursed under his breath, he had not managed to kill more then maybe four humans. Why had the lordling held them back for so long?

“You were a child mere minutes ago” Daedhel responded and Saedir realized he had spoken out loud. “Now you are a true druchii be grateful that I allowed you any kills at all, also be grateful that I don't strike you down for questioning my actions.”

“I am sorry lordling” Saedir responded, he had to, he knew full well he was no match for the lordling in a fair fight. Truth told however he was not the least bit sorry, and one day he'd pay the lordling back for these insults”

“No you're not, but a word of advice, if you ever challenge me again, make sure you're ready first” Daedhel laughed, then left for the village. Leaving Saedir and the remaining warriors to tie up their captives.'

My intention with the story of Saedir is to give an inside perspective of the dark elf society. To show that the dont view themselves as evil, they're a society drivne by war and murder though, and the belive mercy to be a weakness. but they also view themselves as the only true elves and their twisted version of honor and glory is very important to them. Atleast thats my take on them.

Kill them all! Sigmar will recognise his own!

Lo folks! I realised i needed to publish somethign real here but i'm to tired to write anything tonight so I'm publishing a few untested mordheim rules i wrote on a rainy day.

Enjoy:

Trail for heresy

Captured
When a hero become 'Captured' (As per 61 on the Heroes serious injury chart) the with hunter player have the option (in addition to the ones in the Mordheim rulebook) to put the hero on trail for heresy.

If more than one hero is captured this is done separately for each of them.
The Witch hunter player first chooses a hero who did not go out of action in the battle to be the persecutor. (if no heroes are available the with hunter may not use the trail for heresy rules)
Then both players roll a d6, and add the Leadership value (Ld) of their hero to the score.
If the persecutor hate the persecuted for whatever reason (e.g. because of 'Burn the witch!' or having previously rolled a 56 'bitter enemy' on the heroes serious injury chart) he may roll 2d6 and choose one dice.

If the Captured hero wins he is found innocent and is set free, he also gets exp equal to the amount he won the trail by (His Ld + his d6 – opponents Ld – opponents d6). He returns to his warband.

If the witch hunter hero wins the captured hero is found guilty of heresy and is burned at the stake. The captured hero is killed, his war gear is taken by the capturing warband. The persecutor also gain exp equal to the score he won the trial by (His Ld + his d6 – opponents Ld – opponents d6).

Stragglers and Prisoners

If a witchunter warband encounters a straggler ( two 4's on the Mordheim exploration chart), prisoners (three 3's on the Mordheim exploration chart) Raving lunatic (two 2's on the EiF exploration chart), Mordheim refugees (two 4's on a Mordheim exploration chart) or any similar encounters where an evil warband may sacrifice them for experience, the witchhunters may try them for heresy or corruption.
For each available point of experience in this manner the witchunter choose a hero who didn't go out of action in the battle (more than one experience point may be applied to a single hero) this hero makes a leadership test, if he passes he gets the point of experience (and the poor unfortunate is found tainted) if he fails the experience point is wasted (and the poor unfortunate goes free).

It may seem strange that witchunters would kill innocents but the taint of chaos runs deep and it must not be allowed to spread. So kill them all! Sigmar will recognise his own!

I also am workign on a story about a Dark Elf gladiator, i know the lore doesnt really mention the dark elfs throwing gladitorial games but i found it fitting.  And some backstory for a Fallen angel commander. Not to mention the background for the high elf amry i'm currently working on.

well until next time.

Welcome to the realm of insanity

Yes welcome mortal. Welcome to this blog. This is my blog for a warhammer and warhammer 40k.
My name is Fredrik Dunge I'm a engineering student from sweden, some of you will know me as TheDungen from warseer (that guy who rants about things and sucks at spelling in english, you know the one).

I used to play both warhammer and warhammer 40k like 8 years ago but then quit during my teenage years But now i'm back with it. I've collected quite  few armies  mostly not getting further than buying the codex/army book and then one core/troops box before losing intrest. I also glued the models together but rarely ended up painting them. This time i'll try to focus more, as such i've decided to just play warhammer, atlest until i have a finished army for that setting. the army i'm working on right now is a high elf army based on the kingdom of Nagarythe. I'll post pictures of my progress on that here I will also publish stories I've written and terrain I've made.

Untill i'm able to publish a real project log here of my High elf army I'll link to my log on warseer.

Hope you'll enjoy the blog

cheers
